How PromptTrain compares

Most workout apps start with a plan or a blank log and leave you to fit it to the room you are in. PromptTrain starts with the room. This page shows what that changes.

The right-hand column is a general summary of how workout logging and plan apps commonly work, based on what such apps say on their own websites and App Store listings, last reviewed on 12 October 2026. It does not describe any one app, and features differ between apps. PromptTrain has not been released yet, so its column describes how it is designed to work at launch.

The basics are covered too

Warm-ups, rest timers, exercise demos, swapping an exercise, a muscle body diagram, weekly streaks, weight and body fat charts and optional Apple Health sync are all in PromptTrain. Plenty of other apps have them as well, so we do not count them as reasons to choose us.

Reading this page

Workout logging apps mainly record the training you do. PromptTrain starts from the equipment you have in the room and builds the session for you. Neither kind is better or worse, they are built for different jobs, and many people use both.

We have not tested other apps ourselves. Features, plans and prices change, and they differ between apps, so check each app's own listing before you decide.
